Maintenance & scheduling
How mowing, clippings, neglect, access, and weather work on a Farias Landscape route.
During peak growth, roughly April through September, weekly mowing keeps most Portland lawns healthiest. In the cooler, slower months, every other week is usually enough. Farias Landscape sets the schedule to your grass type and how much sun the yard gets.
For the most part we bag all of our clippings, unless a customer asks us to mulch it.
Yes. The first visit is usually a reset: cutting in stages, clearing debris, edging, and weeding beds. After that the lawn goes on a normal weekly or biweekly schedule.
No. Most maintenance visits happen while clients are at work. We need reliable gate access, and we leave a note if anything needs your attention.
Portland rain is expected, and light rain does not stop service. When the ground is too saturated to mow without damaging the turf, we move your visit to the next dry day and keep the route on track.

Yes. Every installation starts with a plan: a layout, a plant list, and the materials, so you can see and approve the result before anything is dug. Small projects get a simple sketch and larger ones get a scaled drawing.
It depends on the size and scope of the project. A small bed refresh or planting job can often be done in a day, while a full yard build takes longer. Weather and material delivery also affect the timeline. You get a schedule with your estimate.
Yes. If you have a plan from a designer or architect, Farias Landscape can install it. We will flag anything that may not hold up in this climate before we start.
